18. John Lafayette PETERS ⁽¹⁾ was born in 1801 in Anderson Co., TN.. He Census (1) in 1830 in Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽⁷⁾ He Census (2) in 1840 in Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽⁸⁾ He Census (3) in 1850 in Crawford Co., AR.. ⁽³⁶⁾ He Census (4) in 1860 in Crawford Co., AR.. ⁽³⁷⁾ He died in Feb 1870 in Crawford Co., AR.. He Land Deeds in Huntsville, Jackson Co., AL..⁽¹⁷⁾ He AFN (LDS) in 285D-85. He AFN (LDS) in 200G-XRK. He Tax List in 1849-1851 Crawford Co., AR.. He was buried in Mountainburg, Crawford Co., AR.. John L. Peters family, and several others left Ala. in the early part of t he 1840's. They came in covered wagons, stopping at times along the way. O ne of these stops was in another county of Ark, east of Crawford Count y. It was about a three day trip by covered wagon to Mountainburg, in Craw ford County, from where They stayed. That is the story that John L.'s youn gest son Peter Silas told. He wasn't born then, but I assume he was told t hat story. They stayed there about a year.
While there, one daughter met and married her husband. Nothing more is k nown about her. They think her name might be Catherine Questionable. The p lace is possibly Russeville, or Clarksville. When John L. decided to mo ve on, and settled down in Crawford County. She stayed there, and they nev er saw her again.
I show him born in Anderson county, TN. due to the fact that Henry was a p roperty tax payer there in 1802.

He was married to Mary Catherine 'Polly' SATTERFIELD (daughter of James E. SATTERFIELD and Catherine LANDERS) about 1822. Mary Catherine 'Polly' SATTERFIELD⁽¹⁾ was born in 1810 in Lincoln Co., TN.. She Census ( 1) in 1830 in Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽⁷⁾ She Census (2) in 1840 in Jackson Co., AL.. ⁽⁸⁾ She Census (3) in 1850 in Crawford Co., AR.. ⁽³⁶⁾ She Census (4) in 1860 in Crawford Co., AR.. ⁽³⁷⁾ She Census (5) in 1870 in Crawford Co., AR.. ⁽³⁸⁾ She died on 26 Dec 1885 in Mountainburg, Crawford Co., AR.. She AFN (LDS) in 285D-9B. She AFN (LDS) in 200G-XSR. She was buried in Mountainburg, Crawford Co., AR.. The Satterfields and Landers families are two of the oldest families in W arren County, KY. John Lafayette PETERS and Mary Catherine 'Polly' SATTERFIELD had the following children:

This girl may have gotten married around Russelville, AR. Somtimes in t he 1840's. John L. and them stopped there for about a year before comi ng to Crawford County. She got married, and stayed. They never saw her aga in. It was a three day trip by covered wagon from there to here.

It is possible that her Grandmother Catherine stayed with her. That wou ld be John L's mother.
