He farmed for several yea rs in the Imperial Valley. In later years Dolphin hauled fruit and vegetab les, from the valley over to the coast, and peddled them. He Worked at th is with his youngest son Don, Don's father-in-law, William Henry Brown. Br own had moved west from Miami, Oklahoma. One of these trips was to Pismo B each, to peddle fruit. Dolphin was driving a Model-A pickup, just nor th of San Luis Obispo, there is a steep grade he was coming down when t he brakes on his truck failed. Even though this was a few years before, Do lphin never did completely recover from the accident.
